Job description

About H3X Technologies H3X is building America's advanced electric motor company, powering next-generation platforms in aerospace, defense, and marine. Our integrated motor drives deliver 12+ kW/kg, roughly 3x the power density of competing solutions. We're now scaling to megawatt-class systems, with customers working on everything from supersonic aircraft to turbine power generation for AI datacenters. Our team brings together engineers and operators from aerospace, defense, and motorsports, with deep expertise in electric machines, power electronics, material science, and advanced manufacturing. We're a small, fast-moving team doing hard engineering that matters, and we're looking for people who want to do the best work of their careers alongside us. About the role Our team at H3X is hiring Power Electronics Intern. You will contribute to the design, testing, and validation of breakthrough power electronic systems for next-generation electric propulsion. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience with high-voltage systems and the manufacturing processes that take ideas from concept to production. We are looking for a full time Spring Intern, but also have availability for Summer 2027 and extended Co-Op positions. What you will do: - Assist in the design, simulation, and testing of power electronic hardware - Support the development and validation of PCB assemblies and wire harnesses, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement new processes - Conduct simulations and performance analyses using industry-standard tools (MATLAB, LTspice, Simulink) to validate system performance and identify optimization opportunities - Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hardware issues, assisting in implementing corrective actions and documenting outcomes - Assist with test setup, measurement, and evaluation of prototypes and production units, including high-voltage system operation under lab safety guidelines - Contribute to technical documentation, including test reports and manufacturing instructions for PCB and wire harness assemblies - Stay updated on latest trends and advancements in power electronics What we are looking for: - Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field - Strong electronics fundamentals and project-based electronics experiences - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Organized with attention to detail - Experience or interest in high-voltage systems, power electronics, electric motors - Curious and motivated by first principles Nice to have experience: - Coursework or experience in power electronics principles, including converter topologies, semiconductor devices, etc. - Familiarity with PCB design tools (Altium preferred) - Experience in simulation tools such as MATLAB, LTspice, Simulink, or similar - Hands-on experience with circuit prototyping and troubleshooting; comfort with lab instruments and small hand tools - Experience with scripting and/or software development (Python, C, etc.) Why H3X Joining H3X means working on hard, meaningful problems with a skunkworks-style team that's laser-focused on building exceptional products. We're deeply vertically integrated and have a very tight design-build-test loop, which lets us move from concept to hardware at unmatched speed. We've gone from idea to shipping product in less than two months. We're a small, highly skilled team where everyone carries real responsibility and shares an extreme ownership mentality. We stay focused on the critical path, keep bureaucracy to a minimum, and structure everything around delivering results. You'll learn and grow faster here than you would anywhere else. You'll work alongside world-class engineers and builders who are pioneering electric motor technology at scale on some of the coolest programs in the industry, from supersonic aircraft to power generation for AI datacenters. If you want your contributions to be visible and your work to directly shape American reindustrialization, you'll feel at home here. Compensation & Benefits - Salary/Hourly Compensation Range: $23 - $37/hr based on school level & experience - Flexible hours (deliverable-based goals) - Relocation package - Monthly company events - Friday Team Lunches Our Values Be Relentless Never give up, persevere until the job is done.
