Job description
What You Will Be Doing:
• General Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out routine painting, plastering, basic carpentry, tiling, and minor plumbing or electrical troubleshooting.
• Preventative Care: Conduct scheduled maintenance checks on guest rooms (e.g., lighting, furniture, fixtures) and public areas to fix issues before guests notice them.
• Rapid Response: Respond promptly and politely to urgent maintenance requests from guests or other hotel departments.
• Safety First: Maintain tools, equipment, and workshops in a safe, clean order, ensuring all work complies with workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.
What We Are Looking For:
• The "Fix-It" Mindset: Proven experience in a handyperson, trade assistant, or building maintenance role (hospitality or residential experience is a major plus).
• A Broad Skill Set: Practical, hands-on knowledge of painting, basic repairs, and using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Guest-Focused: A friendly, professional demeanor, as you will frequently interact with guests while working in room environments.
• Problem Solvers: The ability to work independently, manage a daily task checklist, and prioritize urgent tasks.
• Flexibility: Availability to work a rotating roster, which may include weekends or occasional on-call shifts for emergencies
