The Sr. Software Architect I serves as the technical lead responsible for designing, integrating, and overseeing the implementation of secure, scalable enterprise software and AI/ML solutions that support the Government's mission. The role translates business and technical requirements into end-to-end solution architectures, guides development teams through the full software development lifecycle, and ensures all solutions comply with DoD architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, and interoperability standards. What you’ll do: • Design secure, scalable software architectures that support enterprise AI/ML applications, analytics platforms, and cloud-native solutions aligned with DLA mission requirements. • Collaborate with Government stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to translate business needs into technical architectures, solution designs, and implementation roadmaps. • Lead architecture reviews, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend technical approaches that improve interoperability, performance, scalability, and maintainability. • Produce and maintain architecture documentation, including solution designs, interface specifications, security architectures, technical diagrams, and requirements traceability artifacts. • Guide development teams through the full software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions adhere to established architecture, coding, cybersecurity, and cloud engineering standards. • Design and oversee integration of AI/ML capabilities, enterprise data sources, APIs, and AWS cloud services into production-ready solutions. • Partner with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams to incorporate Zero Trust principles, security controls, and compliance requirements throughout solution development. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical planning sessions, design reviews, and customer briefings while mentoring developers and providing technical leadership across multiple initiatives. • Evaluate technical risks, resolve complex architectural issues, and continuously refine the enterprise architecture to support evolving mission priorities and emerging technologies. What you’ll need to succeed: • Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise software architectures. • Demonstrated experience designing new software products and major enhancements to existing systems. • Experience performing system integration, interoperability, compatibility, and multi-platform architecture design. • Experience conducting technical feasibility analyses, architectural trade studies, and technology recommendations. • Experience serving as a technical lead with responsibility for end-to-end solution delivery and project completion. • Experience developing architecture artifacts, including Solution Architecture Documents, System Design Documents, Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs), Configuration Management Plans, Security Architecture documentation, and detailed technical design specifications. • Experience architecting AI/ML-enabled solutions from concept through deployment and sustainment. • Experience designing enterprise solutions within AWS cloud environments. • Experience architecting secure applications using Zero Trust principles, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and DoD cybersecurity requirements. • Experience supporting the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment. • Experience collaborating with Government stakeholders to define AI/ML use cases, technical architectures, and implementation strategies. • Ability to develop architectures compliant with DoD architecture standards, cybersecurity policies, and security engineering requirements. • Must possess an IT-II (Non-Critical Sensitive) security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) background investigation (equivalent to a position of public trust; not a Secret security clearance) at the time of proposal submission. • Relevant technical certification from a nationally recognized authority. Examples that clearly satisfy the requirement include: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred) AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Google Professional Cloud Architect TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner (or TOGAF 10) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), particularly for security-focused architecture roles SALARY RANGE:  $160,000 - $180,000 The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
