Full-Time Opportunity Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM About the Role We are seeking a Laboratory Technician (Occupational Hygiene) to join our Occupational Hygiene Team. This is primarily a laboratory-based role with occasional field work, supporting the preparation and analysis of occupational hygiene samples to deliver accurate, high-quality results for our clients. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES: Laboratory technician (Occupational Hygiene) will perform the following duties: • Receive, sort and prepare laboratory samples in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. • Prepare samples for analysis in accordance with sample and analytical requirements. • Perform routine laboratory analysis, quality control checks, validations and project work. • Conduct analysis including: - Gravimetric analysis of respirable and inhalable dust - Respirable crystalline silica analysis - Diesel particulate matter analysis - Acid digestion for metals analysis - PM2.5, PM10 and total suspended particulate analysis • Prepare, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and sampling instruments. • Prepare field sampling equipment for internal and client use. • Undertake occupational hygiene field work, including: - Airborne fibre monitoring - Respirable crystalline silica monitoring - Respirable and inhalable dust monitoring - Other workplace air quality monitoring as required • Ensure traceability of samples throughout the preparation and analysis process. • Prioritise samples to meet turnaround times. • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and housekeeping standards. • Ensure efficient use of laboratory consumables and materials. • Comply with ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements. • Ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining quality and safety standards. • Undertake other duties as directed by managementAct in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics and all other relevant policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Essential • Certificate, Diploma or relevant qualification in Laboratory Techniques, Science or a related discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience. • Previous experience in a laboratory environment. • Strong attention to detail. • Good organisational and time management skills. • Ability to work both independently and within a team. • Good written and verbal communication skills. Desirable • Experience in occupational hygiene laboratory testing. • Experience with occupational hygiene field sampling or workplace monitoring. • Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory requirements. • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
