We are searching for an outstanding Electrical Fitter to support mission critical communications systems at the Harold E Holt Naval Communication Station. The precinct is vital to our nation’s defence and includes the Space Surveillance Telescope and C-Band Radar, part of a worldwide network of telescopes and radars that detect, track, identify and catalogue man-made objects in space. Key Responsibilities: • Adhere to safety requirements and develop job safety analyses for specific tasks. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. • Liaise with shift employees to co-ordinate downtime preventive / corrective maintenance activities. • Follow the Lockout / Tag Out process when required. • Plan and record work tasks in the asset / maintenance management system. • Provide technical advice as required. • Provide on-the-job training for other staff. • Manage stores and order equipment, parts, and items. Skills, Experience and Qualifications • Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrician, minimum of four years of post-trade experience. • Electrical License issued by the Electrical Licensing Board. • HV License • “C” class driver’s license. • Candidates must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
