Job description
• Procure supplies, materials, equipment, and services required to support Center program operation in accordance with Center contract requirements, Corporate objectives and government policies
• Make purchases in a reasonable time frame for efficient Center operation
• Ensure that procurement is in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, Department Of Labor Acquisition Standards, Office of Management and Budget Circulars, and Executive Orders
• Maintain working library on rules and regulations for sub-contracting, property compliance, and equipment purchasing
• Maintain professional memberships
• Use the Small Business Administration as a prime source for locating new vendors
• Ensure that Center goals for using small, woman owned, small disadvantage and hub zone businesses are met
• Verify that new vendors are financially sound with an ability and good reputation for supplying materials and /or services
• Create and maintain database of business supplies and vendors using on-line sources
• Other duties as assigned
• Four years of purchasing experience preferable
• Knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is highly desirable
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or four years purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
