Who you are:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Head of MyG Core Workflows who will own the MyGeotab workflows customers depend on, ensuring their usability, reliability, and evolution while enabling other product domains to build on shared capabilities. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!
What you'll do:
The Head of MyG Core Workflows owns the MyGeotab workflows every customer depends on and is accountable for their usability, reliability, and evolution, both as customer-facing product and as shared capability other domains build on. The scope spans driver messaging; notifications (types, templates, recipients, and delivery channels, including reliability and latency); exception rules, stock rules, and how exceptions appear across reports and the map; system settings; the group hierarchy and its UI; and investigations that reconstruct what happened in context. This leader sets the vision for these workflows and how other domains build on rules, notifications, and groups, and answers to MyGeotab customers, the domain's primary customers, and the product domains that depend on it.
Key Accountabilities:
• People leadership, development, and organizational health.
• AI-native product development lifecycle, including AI-assisted modernization of legacy MyGeotab workflow pages.
• Cross-domain communication and coordination.
• Product ownership and engineering standards for MyGeotab core workflows
• Customer outcomes and reliability, with MyGeotab customers as primary customers and dependent product domains as internal customers
How you'll make an impact:
Product Engineering & Technical Standards
• Define, maintain, and evolve the technical standards, architectural patterns, and shared components for the domain's workflows.
• Own the reliability, scalability, and performance of messaging, notification, rules UI, and exception services; accountable to customer-facing SLOs for notification delivery success and latency. Own regression protection and VIP-customer test coverage so no release silently breaks customers' rules or notifications.
• Lead the identification and resolution of technical debt, security vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements in the domain, including the integrity of group-based data visibility, in coordination with Core API and Security.
• Shape and communicate the vision for core workflows to solution and segment domains; publish and maintain the capability contract for rules, notifications, and groups — intended use patterns, integration standards, and system constraints — so consuming domains can build on reusable platform capability correctly and confidently; keep platform tooling decisions aligned with the needs of consuming domains.
• Modernize legacy MyGeotab workflow pages to the Zenith/React stack, using AI-assisted conversion where practical, while preserving the behaviour customers depend on.
Customer Outcomes & Enablement
• Treat product domain teams as internal customers of rules, notifications, and groups; proactively understand their evolving needs and remove blockers. MyGeotab customers remain the domain's primary customers.
• Own product discovery and the domain roadmap with the domain's product manager and designers; prioritize transparently based on customer impact, reliability, and the needs of dependent domains.
• Define and measure customer and product metrics as primary success indicators: notification delivery success and latency, exception-to-notification time, rules-related incidents and PMIRs, support ticket volume per feature, feature adoption and usage, and investigation escalation accuracy.
• Establish feedback loops with peer Heads of Domain to capture platform gaps and translate them into actionable improvements.
• Provide technical consultation and guidance to product domain teams on the capabilities and constraints of rules, notifications, and groups.
• Manage external delivery dependencies (email, SMS, voice, and webhook providers) and internal dependencies (Gateway/embedded for in-vehicle feedback, Drive and in-cab devices for messaging, the rules engine, Video, and Safety) — integration standards and the risk each dependency creates for reliability and roadmap.
People Development
• Provide career development support.
• Conduct regular 1:1s and performance conversations.
• Support employees through KPA goal-setting and development planning.
• Oversee the hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management of a cross-functional team consisting of product managers, designers, and product engineers or other skills as required.
• Support company-wide strategic initiatives including AI adoption, security posture, accessibility, and compliance programs as directed.
• Identify growth opportunities and training aligned to domain needs.
• Foster a high-trust, high-accountability team culture that values craftsmanship, documentation, and service mindset.
• Manage team capacity and resource allocation across roadmap initiatives, customer commitments, and support obligations.
Domain Strategy & Roadmap
• Translate board-level strategic direction into a coherent domain roadmap and execution plan.
• Own the domain investment portfolio within approved parameters; make principled trade-offs between new capability, reliability, and technical debt reduction.
• Lead annual planning processes including headcount, budget, and OKR input to department leadership.
• Track and report on domain health, customer outcomes, and team delivery through defined KPIs; surface risks and recommendations to board leadership.
Cross-Domain Coordination
• Contributes domain expertise to cross-domain initiatives when assigned. Maintains clear, documented ownership boundaries with adjacent domains — notably the rules engine (evaluation and processing), Safety (collision reconstruction and post-collision workflows), and Geospatial (zones).
• Collaborate with product domain leads to align core workflow capabilities with product roadmaps and delivery timelines.
• Participate in department planning forums as a subject-matter authority for MyGeotab core workflows; represent domain constraints and opportunities clearly to board leadership.
Board Relationship & Accountability
• Own and execute the domain strategy within board-set direction.
• Make investment cases to the board for resourcing, headcount, and capability investment.
• Operate under structured board coaching with increasing autonomy.
Geotab First Mindset
• Champions a Geotab First approach to leadership by putting the success of the broader organization ahead of siloed or individual domain wins.
• Beyond leading their own domain, actively fosters collaboration, builds consensus, and works effectively across diverse internal and external teams.
• Seeks out different perspectives before decisions are made, shares credit and information openly, and treats other domains' priorities as shared priorities.
• Drives collective success through strong interpersonal relationships, shared goals, and a willingness to flex personal or domain agendas in service of the company's broader objectives.
What you'll bring to the role:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field may be substituted.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience in SaaS or web product engineering or product management, ideally on configuration-heavy, multi-tenant products.
• 3+ years in technical leadership roles.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• 1+ years leading a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Deep technical and product expertise in configuration-heavy, multi-tenant B2B SaaS workflows; experience with event, alerting, and multi-channel notification systems (delivery, templating, rate limiting).
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a matrixed or shared-services organizational model.
• Strong product sense and UX judgment — able to make complex configuration (rules, groups, notifications) powerful for large fleets yet simple for small ones.
• Strong systems thinking — ability to anticipate how platform decisions ripple across multiple consuming teams.
• Proficient in defining and tracking SLOs, customer-facing product metrics, and reliability indicators.
• Ability to shape and evangelize a vision for core workflows across consuming domains — communicating intended use patterns, constraints, and trade-offs of reusable capability so solution and segment teams adopt it correctly.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to translate technical concepts into customer and business impact for non-technical peers and leadership.
• Experience operating in evolving organizational structures with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices: CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud-native architecture, observability, and agile delivery. Knowledge of telematics or fleet management is an asset.
• AI Nativity: Ability to redesign the domain's workflows around AI to compress effort.
• Change Readiness: Lead change through a larger domain; manage resistance and sustain momentum.
If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role! Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
