Let’s Talk about the Role
The Tender Technical Manager leads the overall technical coordination and strategy for high-value, complex transmission projects during the tendering phase.
You will act as the primary technical point of contact for our customers, collaborating with global teams to develop safe, reliable, and cost-effective technical solutions. By managing the full engineering scope and schedule, you will ensure our proposals meet the highest quality standards while positioning us to deliver innovative projects that drive the global energy transition.
How You Will Make a Difference
• Leading the technical strategy for large-scale projects, ensuring all designs are optimized, safe, and aligned with customer requirements.
• Coordinating global engineering teams to synchronize work packages and resolve complex technical challenges throughout the tender process.
• Developing the technical delivery strategy and schedule, that will be used by the execution teams to successfully deliver the project.
• Mitigating technical risks by developing robust action plans and facilitating rigorous design reviews and validation processes.
• Developing strong customer relationships by providing clear, consistent technical responses and managing detailed clause-by-clause analysis.
• Driving continuous improvement by integrating lessons learned from past projects to enhance current technical offers and design strategies.
Skills for Success
You should be a collaborative technical leader with:
• An expertise in electrical engineering, preferably Power Engineering. You will also be familiar with the supporting disciplines such as civil works, layout and integration design and Protection and control systems.
• The capability to lead complex technical projects within an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) environment.
• An understanding of project execution risks, financial processes, and the lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure projects.
• The ability to influence cross-functional teams and present complex technical messages clearly to stakeholders.
• A keen interest in innovative problem-solving and delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant Electrical Engineering discipline are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
Where and how you'll work
• This is a permanent position based in our Stafford, UK office, where we have a hybrid working arrangement, with three days working in the office and the remaining two days where home-working is an option.
