JOB OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville seeks lunch monitors for their K-8 campuses. Each lunch monitor works a daily shift during the lunch hours of students at the school to ensure the safety and well-being of the students, staff and school facilities.
During the daily shift, the lunch monitor will supervise students by:
• Ensuring that norms and expectations for the cafeteria are adhered to by using positive reinforcement, stating clear expectations for students, and following the school’s steps to manage all student behavior(s)
• Maintaining the schedule for grade levels (i.e. overseeing transitions, monitoring time, giving time warnings, etc.)
• Assist, as needed, to get students through the serving line
• Assist, as needed, to direct students to table(s)
• Warmly interacting with students while they eat
To be successful in this role, candidates should enjoy spending time with elementary students, be flexible when needed, and excel at helping a schedule to run smoothly.

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior experience working with elementary students
Hourly rate: $14/hour
Schedule: 2-4 hours per day, M-F
Maximum hours worked per week would be 20
